GNLF:- GORKHA NATIONAL LIBERATION FRONT
Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) is a political gathering in the Darjeeling District of West Bengal, India. It was framed in 1980 by Subhash Ghisingh with the goal of requesting a Gorkhaland state inside India.
Amid the 1980s, the GNLF drove an escalated and frequently vicious crusade for the making of a different Gorkhaland state in the Nepali-talking zones of northern West Bengal (Darjeeling, Dooars and Terai). The development achieved its top around 1985– 1986. On 22 August 1988, the GNLF, under Subhash Ghisingh, marked the Darjeeling Hill Accord, which made the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) in return for the GNLF surrendering its interest for Gorkhaland. The GNLF controlled the DGHC with Subhash Ghisingh as the executive of the chamber from 1988 to 2004 for three progressive terms. Subhash Ghisingh was designated the sole guardian of the DGHC from 2005 to 2008 as no decision for the DGHC was held.
