Bad hygiene habits

You're washing your hair every day -
Your scalp produces natural oils that are important to healthy and shiny hair, and when you shampoo it gets rid of dirt and excess oil.

Not washing your hands often -
Washing our hands is important to keep us healthy and to reduce the spread of illness.

You're sharing your razor -
Sharing razors is a terrible idea, as it can spread skin infections like staph, and in worst case scenarios it can transmit viruses like hepatitis and HIV.

Inadequate tooth brushing -
It's easy to be sloppy when it comes to brushing your teeth, especially early in the morning when you're half asleep.

You sleep with your contact lenses - Sleeping with your contact lenses can cause eye irritation. But in worst case scenarios it can lead to a corneal abrasion or infection.

Keeping your toothbrush near the toilet - If your toothbrush is located near the toilet, then you're putting yourself at risk of some cross-contamination.

You use dirty towels for many days - This might freak you out, but a shower towel can house bacteria, mold, and yeast after just a few days of use.

You're taking long, hot showers - Hot showers can result in a number of negative side effects, including drying out skin and stripping away important natural oils.

Using your kitchen sponge for too long - Sponges are big germ magnets, which can lead to the spread of diseases like salmonella.

You don't wash your bedding enough - When you don't wash your sheets, large quantities of particulates accumulate, including human skin cells.

You're using too much mouthwash - Mouthwash can actually be too harsh for some. Alcohol-based mouthwashes tend to dehydrate the mouth.

Going to bed with your makeup on - Sleeping with your makeup on is probably one of the biggest skincare mistakes around.

Not washing your bras or underwear regularly - This is probably a no-brainer, but make sure you change your underwear every day.

Not replacing your bath sponge - Washcloths and loofahs can harbor bacteria, mold, and yeast. Make sure you allow it to dry completely each time and replace it frequently.
