Movies that ruined real-life marriages

'The Misfits' (1961) - The script of 'The Misfits' (1961) was based on a story by playwright Arthur Miller, who was married to Marilyn Monroe at the time.

'Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein' (1994) - Kenneth Branagh was married to Emma Thompson when he fell for his co-star Helena Bonham Carter.

'To Have and To Have Not' (1944) - Bogart fell for Bacall and divorced Methot. The new couple stayed married until the actor died in 1957.

'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' (2005) - The movie that famously brought Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie together also famously destroyed the actor's marriage.

'The Outlaw Josey Wales' (1976) - The actress was married to sculptor Gordon Anderson, and remained with him until her death in 2018. Eastwood, on the other hand, divorced his wife.

'Titanic' (1997) - Director James Cameron was married to Linda Hamilton when he started working with actress Suzy Amis (who played Rose's granddaughter).

'Proof of Life' (2000) - Reportedly, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid’s marriage was already on the rocks before this movie was shot, with Quaid allegedly cheating on Ryan.

'Days of Thunder' (1990) - The two actors quickly fell in love with each other, leading to Cruise getting a divorce just one month after he started filming 'Days of Thunder' (1990).
