ISAS:- INSTITUTE OF SPACE AND ASTRONOMICAL SCIENCE
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is a legislature helped organize and regarded college for the investigation and research of room science, situated at Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It is the main college in Asia to be exclusively committed to the examination and research of Outer space. It was initiated on 14 September 2007 by G. Madhavan Nair, the then Chairman of ISRO.IIST was set up by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) under the Department of Space, Government of India. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, previous President of India, was the Chancellor of IIST.IIST offers normal building undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programs with a spotlight on space science, innovation, and applications.
At its initiation, the foundation began working at the ATF Campus, under Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), Kerala. Present day naturally benevolent structures of exceptional engineering blend well with the thickly lush grounds of 100 sections of land arranged on the foot slopes of Sahyadri.
The best in class private grounds worked close Liquid Propulsion Systems Center in Valiamala, Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram was initiated by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the then Prime Minister of India on 25 August 2009. The organization began working in its new grounds from 15 August 2010. The grounds have an expansion in the beautiful Ponmudi Hills, Thiruvananthapuram, for an observatory which is under development.
