Press Information Bureau abbreviated as PIB. Established in 1919. Has its headquarters in New Delhi.From prime minister’s meeting the first lady of the Republic of Korea to the prime minister greeting his nation of rich culture and heritage on occasion of Dhanteras.The PIB keeps an eye on everything. Not only the prime minister’s office, the ministry of commerce and industry, corporate affairs, finance, observing each and every department of the government. It plays a pivotal role in connecting the government to media. In order to disseminate all the information, the policies, initiatives, achievements of government among people via print, electronic, newspapers and new media.PIB arranges press conferences, tours, media events, public campaigns. The bureau from its headquarters and 40 regional offices, it has developed an unbreakable chain of information. Connecting the government to its people, bringing into action the idea of making in India, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, surgical strike and many more, spreading the information all over the country by releasing its databases in English, Hindi and other Indian languages. In addition to its vast role, it even transfers the people’s feedback back to the government.PIB is presently working under the supervision of Shri Sitanshu Kaur.
