SLBM:- Submarine Launch Ballistic Missile

The full form of SLBM stands for Submarine Launch Ballistic Missile. The Submarine Launch Ballistic Missile is a type of an advanced ballistic missile which is capable of being launched from submarines. The Germans developed the first practical design of a submarine-based launched platform near the end of World War II. The design of the Germans’ submarine based launched platform also involved a launch tube which contained a V-2 ballistic missile variant and also was towed behind a submarine which was known by the code name Prüfstand XII. The Submarine Launch Ballistic Missile and the ICBMs are basically part of the same family of weapons. The operations of the Submarine Launch Ballistic Missile and submarine-launched cruise missile are different. Multiple Independently targetable Reentry Vehicles, each of which carries a nuclear warhead and allows a single launched missile to strike several targets, these are usually in the case of modern variants.
